Hammond organ part to Vale Avis Tenebrica, the second song on my fourth Jamendo album, Points of Departure. I am making all of my original tracks for this album available through Creative Commons and ccMixter.

This song is in 6/8. It also features some unusual chords. The ‘A’ section oscillates between Bmaj7 and the slash chord B/C; the ‘B’ section has a pretty, but unusual chord progression:

Gb6 / Db
Gbmaj7
Gb / F
E dim
Ebmaj7+ (spelled G / Eb)

The middle section (at the transition between 6/8 straight and 6/8 swing) is improvised in related quartal chords (mainly Em11 and Dm11) then wraps up with some huge jazz chords:

Dmaj13
A13
B7 / G# (G# phrygian)

There are four tracks in this series:

* Fretless bass.
* Hammond organ.
* Piano.
* Rhythm track.
