I guess everybody´s been emotionally affected by the Haiti disaster.
Susan/SackJo22 wanted so much to do a song about it.
The moving lyric she sent inspired me to make the music at a work pace I’m not used to.
Haskel/HEJ31 added some gentle and sensitive but expressive guitar playing to the song.

SackJo22:s lyric:

The tension lingered deep, lingered for years
corruption and poverty
and a mother’s fear
that her child would never have a chance to grow
and struggle would be all he’d know.
And then the inevitable release, the seismic event
that makes speculation meaningless,
the future instantly redefined
as the earthquake irrevocably changed millions of lives.

All seems lost
You linger stunned in the rubble of despair
How do you go on?
Yet as the night falls once again, the sun will rise again
Again you will get hungry, and you’ll still breathe the air
Resilience and dignity, again the stars shine above
Again love returns to you, again you’ll want to love

You have been directly exposed to tremors
directly exposed to death
directly exposed to chaos and confusion
yet somehow hope persists.
With the infrastructure shattered
still women clap and sing
Through the unimaginable destruction
the rift fused between enemies
The heart of the world reaches out to you
Let it in, let it in, let it in to soothe.

All seems lost
You linger stunned in the rubble of despair
How do you go on?
Yet as th enight falls once again, the sun will rise again
Again you will get hungry, and you’ll still breathe the air
Resilience and dignity, again the stars shine above
Again love returns to you, again you’ll want to love
