Light in Darkness
A MixterPlus Winter Holiday Multi-Media Event ![]() “So the darkness shall be the light, and the stillness the dancing.” ~TS Eliot About the Event In the rhythm of nature, winter brings the longest nights—a time when the skies are filled with stars and we patiently await the return of the sun. But this season of darkness is not just external. Large parts of our digital world feel like they have gone dark, too. Are you feeling overwhelmed by the rise of the “Dead Internet,” the relentless churn of algorithms, the ubiquity of cynical AI-generated content, and the noise of hyper-targeted advertising? If you seek properly human, respectful discourse and genuine creativity, this event is for you. MixterPlus invites you to a unique, multi-media holiday gathering designed to be a beacon in the digital gloom. Why Attend? Just as our ancestors used candles and fires to illuminate the longest nights. We, as artists and humans in the digital age, must shine our creative light in a world of code and creativity. This event is a celebration of the human spirit over the machine, focusing on: Human Connection: We believe our human interactions are still the reason we get together. This is a space where personality and personhood are appreciated and celebrated above all else. The Power of Real Art: Explore the contrast between authentic human creativity and the overwhelming tide of corporate, algorithmic, or market-driven “art.” Finding Light in the Darkness: We will connect the seasonal themes of Thanksgiving, Solstice, Hanukkah, Christmas, and New Year to the universal human need for hope and illumination, echoing the wisdom of figures like Desmond Tutu and T.S. Eliot. A Multi-Media Experience: Engage with various artistic expressions (poetry, visual art, music, discussion) designed to nourish your soul during the darkest time of the year.
