It would be cool to hook ccmixter up with some music education software.

For example, a vocalist wanting a backing track, a lead guitarist wanting a full band accompaniment, all of the stuff here is really good for practice because of the liberal licensing. A student edition DAW integrating directly with ccmixter would be incredibly popular. It wouldn’t be a great technical challenge to ad “rocket” style features on Ardour for example, with the system hooking up directly, would obviously need an extra interface for the site though.

Just a few thoughts for the future…

Thanks for sharing your idea. We have a lot on our plate right now (and I’m working on a community update) but we are keeping a wish-list of future functionality.
