I have just got a small radio show started the Midnight Freedom Show currently plays on Y98.7 in the Bahamas but is looking to be on other stations as well.

It will only play songs with BY-SA or BY licenses from the cc world and perhaps other similar licenses not of cc origin.

So far, I have plans for getting songs from ccmixter, kompoz, and jamendo.

Here on ccmixter, I would like to be able to browse for songs that are in several genres that I select and are under the Attribution license.

My initial thought was to browse by tags and turn system tags on but I can’t seem to find that option any longer.

Is there some simple way to do what I want that I am missing? If not are there any suggested work arounds and can the functionality be implemented?

all the best,

drew

Congrats on the radio show. Will it be archived online?

Victor will have to answer re navigation, but http://ccmixter.org/media/t... still works.

I keep a link to that from http://wiki.creativecommons...

Thanks, I hope this show can grow and promote Free music some.

Not archived online at this point. I want Free Beds with an extra license for the show before I even think of that.

Thanks for the link. I figured that out just after I posted and can even select multiple tags from the edit tags bit.

What I think I really need though is something like this:

(License = Attribution

and

Genre = (rock or blues or alternative)

and

other tag)

something along those lines. I will play about on my own some more too.

all the best,

You can use the Query API with type=any:

For remixes

For samples

For everything

Thanks so much, I modified your query for remixes to add a sort:

and a format option and another genre. I may want to try for some other format, I am not sure yet.

In this part:

tags=rock+blues+alternate

that gives me rock or blues or alternative?

What do you do if you want and?

&tags=tag1&tags=tag2 etc?

all the best,

I had to use:

&lic=by

To get the license part to work correctly for me.

You can also use the remix browser and set the ‘Match’ field to ‘Match any tags’
