isn't this denied, or I'm missing something?

disclaimer: I’m not - actually - seeking legal advice, but I just want to understand this issue.

Someone at CBC made this short video with a sample from my ‘Otra Vez’:

http://ccmixter.org/pools/i...

I can’t find any kind of attribution, except this link inside ccMixter.

Apart from being released under non-commercial CC license, does this counts as attribution, or am I right to ask a full attribution in the video or in the text that introduce it?

I’m asking this because I was asked for permission to use that track for another project (from other people), but I did not received any kind of notification for this video, apart this link inside ccMixter, and I’m not sure this is the right way to do.

Thank you in advance for your replies, this is the first time someone picks my music and use it this way, and I’m a bit confused on this topic…

you know, I emailed them specifically about that post a week ago because it didn’t look to me like they were in compliance with the license either. I still haven’t heard back, but you should continue to try to contact them.

Thank you, I’ll do for sure.
In the meantime, I’m just spreading the issue on the net, hoping that someone will reply:

you could also maybe add a comment to the youtube video and maybe leave a note in the forums for the Dragon’s Den website:

I’ve tried more times, but it seems to block my comments in some way, don’t know if is a mac issue or what..

I’ve just subscribed, and I’m going to write down something. I would like to know if you or someone knows of any similar story on CC violations, because I’m going to send out a press release soon.

I really don’t know how to deal with a situation like this, but I’m going to learn soon if they insists in their silence.

hopefully somebody at the CBC will give this some attention - it’s a big bureaucracy, but some parts seem rather enlightened. So I hope that enlightenment will win over corporate sloppiness.

I’m sure that when we finally flag somebody at the show they will rectify it. Speaking for myself, I’m not worried about this one.

You’ve got that right guys!

I’m one of the web producers for CBC-TV’s Dragons’ Den.

We really appreciate the heads-up on this matter and we’ve now contacted gmz directly to work it out.

FTR, we dig Otra Vez for the videos we’re doing … that’s why we used it in the first place!
