An ancient riff indeed. In 1989 the only instrument I could play was the clarinet. Love the song! Thanks for using my voice :)

LOL they started me of on the recorder at school but i never got promoted to clarinet. Unlike some of my other ancient riffs this one never had words before, your spoken word piece seemed to be made to fit

“corrosion , rust death and failure” genius lines !

Glad you liked and ta again for the pella

This has a touch of Steve Stevens to the riffing. Very, very good!

Woo, love the thumpy bass and guitar riffs. Wouldn’t have known this musical side of you. This was before you took on more of the CCT style? In any case, very nice! One thing though: each time Fireproof Babies said “Persist”, I could only hear “sist”.

Perhaps I’m saying “cyst” although that is not a verb :)

That works too. Leaving out the first part of the syllable opens the song to a wider interpretation, I think.

Hi Ivan, glad you like … yeah I like a bit of punk as well as the more ethereal stuff, one didnt come before the other

On the enunciation point - the full word is in the mix

I think pronounced psist

I thought it sounded a little like “pissed” (meaning drunk) which is a classic english punk word

Like I said, it works! :) One could add “Resist”, “Insist”, “Decease”. All very much aligned to the Strike the Root theme. And yes, Pissed too.

Man, you know I love these sounds.
Something between The Clash and The Cure.
FB vocals fit very good, catchy and mint arragement. Excellent!

succinct and powerful. great. (love the kick sound). what a perfect framework for FPB. the stops and starts add striking emphasis.

Short… but ohhh so sweet! A powerful punky ruckus… even a bit surfy (one heck of a wave). Love your guitar work… Love the thumpity thumping drums… Love the repeating “persist”…
