Oh man! What a sweet sweet guitar solo. The sound. The feel.

Thanks so much for remixing me and for setting my vocal up in such sweet Galveston country style.

Always a pleasure having your sing with the band, Susan. Digging the emotional and spiritual music feel of your voice and lyrics.

The remix is still a work in progress. Uploaded an update.

Changed the chords in and length of the sixth progression to mo’ better match your voice.

Your vibrato is very strong and tonally wide (Billy Eckstine has nothing on you). To better accommodate your vibrato, reduced the pitch correction to leave your flat 5s and flat 6s alone unless necessary. Adjusted a couple of problematic minor thirds and removed some pops and crackles in the voice track as well.

the emotion and spirit are true. My skills are just limited. I really appreciate the effort you took to work with the stems.

Susan, hope you did not misconstrue my comment about flat 5s and 6s as being about your vocal delivery. In case you or the causal reader thought the comment was a reference to your vocal delivery, here’s the engineering verbiage.

The reference to flat 5s and flat 6s are related to how a less than sophisticated pitch corrector plugin views the notes analyzed wrt the tonic (F#). Not a reference to your singing skills.

For instance, your target note was C#. Your strong vibrato oscillated the note between D (flat 6) and C (flat 5). The adjustment referenced was to tell the plugin to leave your flat 5s and 6s alone unless instructed otherwise.

Wrt emotions and spirit being true, amen to that. The plugin was stepping on your emotional delivery by trying to compensate for your strong vibrato. Had to make it stop!

Love ya, TRF
