The kind of funk you don’t hear much any more, but which I love. I’ve got tons of cassette tapes full of this stuff.

For d’old school funk, it helps when we use legal and tender drums beats from David Garabladi of Tower of Power fame on d’remix. The thin snare is one of his trademark sounds.
