Great, thoughtful lyrics. Hope they change into something more. And for the world as long as big corporations have the power there is very little hope of change for the better.

Thanks for your kind words. You are right - most corporations and governments are undoubtedly corrupt, under the power of money. Alas, let’s not let that paralyze us. Almost all notable and inspiring changes in history have been from “the bottom up” - starting with small, dedicated groups of individuals (think Gandhi!) - this one will have to. Once we stop buying what they are selling and change ourselves, they will have to respond and change eventually. Peace.

Yes. Though we as usual people rarely buy anything from them now. They corrupt politicians and governments instead. (in some places it’s already forbidden by law to collect rain water for own use as an example)
We may have illusion of democracy but in the long run it’s just voting on two sides of the same coin. As long as they are financing politicians there is not much to be done. Often we can only pack our bags and chose a better place to live, foot voting.

Yes, politicians are two sides of the same coin. They play the role of dividing us. But of course we’re all buying from the big corporations — every mile we drive, ride in a bus, fly in a plane. The cars, homes, phones, computers, appliances and equipment we use. Most of our food, beverages and household products . Restaurants and fastfood. Any food you buy in a box, can, jar or any other kind of package almost assuredly contains something grown or at least the seed is “owned” by Monsanto. Shoes and clothing. Using the internet and watching TV supports telecoms. The power and water in your home. Etc, etc. It is nearly inescapable with today’s lifestyle.

Our power lies in the small things. And the cummulation of those small things across families, communities, towns. This is why Gandhi grew his own food and weaved his own cloth and harvested his own salt from the sea.

Small things that make a difference? Grow a garden. Walk or ride a bike when you can. Make your own clothing or buy things second hand. And keep creating music — because music can wake the soul of the sleeping masses.

Peace.

Nicely done. This is one of my favorite frustrations. I totally agree with Doxent - those with the power to make a change that matters won’t because it doesn’t generate obscene profit. I also totally agree with you - that shouldn’t stop us from trying. Keep fighting the good fight.
