That’s the crux of it, isn’t it? This works best as a lament. It makes me sad, because of the scope and scale of it, and how much it impacts us in ways we don’t even realize, and how hard it will be to turn the tide.
Your additions really complement that lamentation, by turning Lonnie’s chorus into a choir. Every new edition of this song gets more and more powerful. It almost hurts to listen to now. No, it does hurt. I’ve had a new experience with corruption over the weekend, one that has brought real grief into my life… this really helps, because Lonnie has captured the essence of what corruption is all about - which is lack of empathy. |

I was actually crying while I was singing this. The hard reality of these lyrics pierced my heart and broke it wide open. It is too true.
I hope you are ok with whatever happened with you - corruption is everywhere. Hurting many of us in a much more personal way than ever before. I agree with you, empathy is removed from so many hearts these days. Here’s hoping we can help keep it alive here at ccM. |

While listening to songs evolve on ccM, I often feel like what they become was meant to be all along. Your additions are a perfect example of this… Superb.
