Whoops, sorry, I hit the recommend accidentally. And I don’t see any way to undo that action so now I guess I have to explain myself. I mean, I like it very much. But I couldn’t tell what you remixed. I actually downloaded this and the original, played them bit by bit, side by side(alternately) and far as I can tell they’re the same mix. Please correct me if I’m wrong. What did you add or remix?

:) 2 my ears they’re quite different…well that
actually makes me happy, because I didn’t want 2 radically change her song, just experiment w/ some things as a sonic exercise…these changes will probably only be immediately noticed by Kara if she clicks by, because it’s a mixdown re-mix, not full-on re-imagining or anything. anyway, you may(or may not) notice different things with instrument placement, level changes & filtering thru-out, there’s distinctly an added vocal track snippet (sampled Kara) near the end, but yes, you are 100% correct these are not huge changes, nor were they meant 2b! peace, sLow |

OK, I stand corrected. I didn’t catch the instrument placement changes or added vocal. I did catch the levels and filters but I consider that re-mastering. Like Kara said, we’re (well I’ll just speak for myself, I’m) not used to subtle when it comes to remixes ‘round here. But subtle is good and I should be more open to it.

Excellent points tho’, Speck;
i’m gonna relabel this one “re-master”, & use same when I have similar borderline remixes that skirt on the edge of being 2 redundant!! |

Nice effects and such… I do hear the differences, but I definitely know where Speck’s coming from… remixes usually have pretty significant changes around here. (Not that there’s anything wrong with a subtle, tweeking-type remix like ya’ did.) I have to admit, I was hoping I’d hear you singing some backup vocals (or replacing the vox all together with a cover)! (Your voice is great!) Anyway, thanks for working with it and for all of your kind words.

:) I’d hate 2 muss up your vox perfection on this song, Kara!! (hey, if ya ever do a ukulele version of a Doors oldie I’ll probably cave)

hi Kara! i’ve always been fond of “Spy in the House of Love” & “People Are Strange”
but i guess i dig ‘em all :D crap, i don’t know if covers are allowed in cc?! |
|
.
Covers are only allowed if the original is in the public domain or licensed CC (one that allows derivatives). So, no, I definitely couldn’t post a Doors cover here, but if I were to record one just for fun, I’d send ya’ an e-mail! (But I have to be honest, I’d have to be particularly inspired to do it… I’ve got so much other recording on the back-burner). :)
