Thanks Speck. It was somewhat inspired by a Saturday Night Live scene where daughters were depicted calling their moms to say they weren’t coming home for the holidays, and the subsequent reactions. The song differs in direction, but the sentiment is what I feel is at the core of this year’s celebration.

Well, however you came by it you nailed it. I can’t seem to find a starting point at all this year, Christmas-songwriting-wise.

I feel like that too, when I look at the kitchen and the overflowing trash can. lol.
