I love Harry Partch’s work, Satie’s piano pieces, the Residents, “Music for Airports”, The Portsmouth Sinfonia, all of Ron Mael’s oddest things for Sparks, Bill Nelson’s ambient work. Jeff Pearce’s guitar ambience, Cagey House, Him and the Drinks, Jean Ritchie’s mountain dulcimer ‘noter’ songs, Henri Petterson’s electronica, Magma,
and, I notice, novelty and childrens’ songs of almost every stripe.
