Oh man. This is so right. The production is stellar in the buildup of the distorted guitars, and the combination of simple tight drums and the loose guitar on top.

This is so far up my alley it’s practically my house. Thanks for sharing this one.

Thanks! With those intense lyrics, I figured it might be interesting to try to convey a numb, dissociative state masking the horror of encroaching madness, or something like that…

Thanks! I had been playing around with running my guitar through some VST effects, and it seemed to fit the bill.

You can thank Fireproof Babies for the analog Korg DM sample- all I did was chop and add a tiny bit of EQ and FX ;-)

I really like the trance like quality of the guitars and the surreal feeling it creates.

Very nice! Thank you very much :)

Thanks! I know you weren’t probably intending when you wrote it quite the bleak corrosion of sanity that this remix points to, but Peter Gabriel’s ending of “Lead A Normal Life”, as well as Pink Floyd-type depictions of losing your marbles, were definitely what came to mind for me with those lyrics….
I’m an odd Duck, what can I say?

So you actually play guitar and not only e-piano that sounds like a guitar?? Well the playing and the sound of the other (pretty_EP guitarish) and this one is really good and again very inspiring. Is there a separate guitar track available? ;-)

Thanks! There’s so many better guitarists on the site, I’m not about to go boasting ;-)
but sure, I’ll post the guitar parts separately. I can’t post them “dry”, since I recorded them playing live through a program call Cantabile 1.2 Lite.

Hi Duckett, I love the guitar on this. very very nice. The way you loosely placed the vocals and guitar work really well together.
Like it alot, thanks

Nice guitar… the total effect is reminding me a bit of David Lanois/Eno production…very nice—-think yer the only one who can dig on the ol’ Korg 55B. Have to upload some more samples just 4 U.

Thanks! I don’t know why that’s not a more popular sample. I’d be grateful for anything you decide to upload ;-)
