Such an interesting take on my song! There’s a few bits where I feel like the melody and harmony don’t quite work together but in general it all works out and it’s so neat to hear the vocals completely recontextualized in that way. Really nice audio production in general, especially on the instrumentation side.

As a vocalist, it can be tough to hear yourself expressed in a way that you probably never would organically, so I do relate a little to Fluffy’s comment, even as I love the mix. I myself never quite get used to being bent out of my normal approaches, even though real magic gets made sometimes.

The vocals hit some notes that are not pentatonic to some of the underlying chords, but honestly, I think that makes this an interesting work, using other modes beyond the usual pop music scales. It doesn’t happen enough to distract, it seems like a slightly deliberate “alt” approach.

The beauty of ccMixter - takes us all a little out of our natural pasture and into new territory. :)

Thank you ;-) Yeah it’s quite more common in european music styles to go beyond standard scales giving some more alt feeling. Polish punk-rock and blues is quite an example in such music. For example listen to some Maanam and Janerka.
