Really digging your Suno AI assisted mixes. Really is a re-imaginary remix.

Ed Pick!

Started reading about Suno.com and other services. Need to defy gravity then give this technology a try.

Hey man, thanks for the pick! I only touched it because I didn’t have any of my gear for years now. I’m finally gonna get back to it in just a few weeks. But yeah, curiosity got the best of me and I gave it a try. After thinking about it, experimenting with it, I honestly see it as just another tool at this point. even after I get another controller and get all my software back, I’ll probably still have AI somewhere in my workflow. I have written a few substack posts on the subject:

From Fake Music to Fake Experience: Why Nothing Is Fake If You Can Feel It

I saw another AI tool today, forgot the name, but you give your own midi and pick an instrument (like violin) and it adds the articulation. It delivers amazing “performances”. To me, that proves the point even more. Is it really any different than key switches, midi CC, advanced scripting in VSTi’s? Just because it sort of automates it? I don’t think so. It’s your melody, your performance if you played it. The AI just upscaled it. BeatMaxxed it lol

I agree with your assessment that AI technology is just another tool.

When used to enhance our content, so much the better.

Your substack article on “fake” was a groove. I have lived through the post-Les Paul disruption (maybe discontinuity) and continue to exploit technology.

Nice! Checking out ace studio now, they only have annual plans though. But I think that sits right in the middle between traditional DAW and suno. Hmmm, might have to pull the trigger on that sooner or later.
