Great bed for those terrific CSM vox- a blend of Crosby-esque flavor, smoky jazz and just enough skillful sample-bufferism to let the listener know it’s 2011… nicely done once again!

Sweet song, my good man! Thank you for using my drums. I like how you cut ‘em up. Very tasteful. FB

Thanks. It was originally a very very different remix and your drums were the main attraction, but I ended up adding so much other stuff that they kind of just sit in the background now..oh well. It was a great track to work with. I downloaded a few others of yours to work with too.

If I may venture an opinion - to my ears the lead guitar conflicts with the vocals in the first part. Love all the glitchy dubby stuff after the initial vocals. Great groove. And when the vocals come back in over that groove it sounds so cool and natural.

Thanks man. I started this really late. I actually deleted it cuz I thought it wasn’t working at all. But then I stripped a bunch of stuff out…yeah I had like 4 other people in this…lol. So, anyway, I extended the intro, brought AB in earlier, split his guitar in half so that he drops out before the vocals come in, then the solo continues after the vocal break. Good ears man.
I’m gonna upload the new version in about 5 minutes.

OK New versions up. I uploaded the bass too. That was the only part I added.

I’m glad you didn’t follow through with your thought of deleting this. It’s really a great piece. Nice job of giving the vocals and guitar their own space in the new version. Flows real nice.

well…you didn’t hear the version I did delete, you woulda thought I bumped my head…lol

Your ears play tricks on you when you’re deprived of sleep. I worked on it, uploaded it and was pretty content, then I came back an hour later and listened and just thought it was horrible. But, when I started to pull stuff out and give more space to things…it started to make more sense.

I’m really glad to be on this, because it does exactly what I like in a song… it builds and descends right down to a simmer. Everything has room to be heard, like the musical instruments are voices in the conversation, just as much as Melody’s voice.

A really great use of all the pieces!!
