This is songwriting in a higher league!
Mixing German words with typical English terms and sayings is so charming! I am pretty aware that the reason or the trigger for this song is a big pain in your back! I am calling all Englanders to listen to this song and celebrate it |

Thanks for this mate. This song has been brewing all week in the back of my mind. The basic idea came from seeing homeless English guys sleeping in doorways while smart tourists photograph crumbling historic buildings and have nice holiday time here in Eboracum (Roman name for York). But there are lots of other meanings and angles too. I wanted to use old colloquial English terms that are no longer much in use. I think I could write a whole essay about the issues behind this simple demo, but I’ll leave it at that for now! Thanks again—really appreciate the feedback!

Thanks again mate—really appreciate your feedback and support. I actually re-recorded this (sped up a bit, tightened up the lyrics, added percussion and more guitar plus harmony vocals). I posted a first draft here:
