Your moody, resonant backing works brilliantly with SJ22’s lovely crystalline voice. A sensationally effective mix as far as I’m concerned. (And I’m a bloody expert on everything, actually.)

I think this is a beautiful arrangement — there are so many gorgeous things happening in the track (do I hear a pizzicato string sound in there?) I love how you worked with the vocal, including your use of the “sigh of love.” I do think the richness and beauty of the track is overshadowed by how loud the vocal is in the mix (did you ever think you’d hear a singer suggest bringing the voice down?) A little more balance and this track will be sublime. As always, I love being mixed by you. Thanks.

You could be right. I played with the vocal bus level quite a bit - I didn’t want to end up with the vox overwhelmed by the guitars. Worth playing with a bit more. Glad you enjoyed.

I did indeed! You have a distinctive style, and your work is always filled with multiple levels of texture so that everytime I listen, it’s a bit of a sonic exploration. Also, I do love what you did with that little tag from the end — I’m inspired to do a whole track of just those little sighs — or would that just be too self-indulgent? :-)

Little sighs are never self-indulgent. Check out freesound.org sometime - it’s linked to ccM.

Thanks oD. Susan did all the work, I just wrapped a bit of ambiance around it.

(I think I learned this from you).
