Shayef Nafsak (scamper mix)
uploaded: Sun, Dec 16, 2007 @ 11:01 PM
When I heard the Shayef Nafsak track I just had to mix it as a challenge to myself. I’m a bit of a musical dilettante, and I’ve never done anything like this before, so I really don’t know what I’m doing. However my goal was simple: rather than hide the vocals in my own mix, I wanted to bring them to the fore and support them with the backing music, using as organic a sound as possible (staying away from synthy tones). That said, I’m not super familiar with eastern music, so I may be using some instruments that wouldn’t make sense to an Arabic band. This was produced entirely in Reason, which I’m still learning.
