What a joy to draw texasradiofish! Thank you for all of the music and fun you bring to ccMixter! I am a big fan. (And thank you to all of the artists in TRF’s mix.)
So joy was my initial intention for this mix… and then this happened… Yeah, it got political. I went there. That’s probably not a surprise to anyone here. This is an intense time in the US (and everywhere?). And you know what? No matter what side anyone stands on, the current suffering and future suffering we are collectively experiencing is… sad. So much of it is unnecessary. So I have empathy in my heart… we can do so much better. We must. For the last 2 weeks while I’ve been trying to find love and empathy, the chaos has taken over and made me intensely depressed. Which is the point of this chaos. So here’s my attempt to go beyond the chaos, beyond my depressive reaction, make a little sense out of it and feel some empowerment. Here’s an article that has both of the quotes I used. The real opposition is the media. And the way to deal with them is to flood the zone with shit.” So that’s what this shit is all about! So what are you supposed to do When all of your fears are coming true And you just can’t wrap your sweet little head around it? Remember: that’s the point! The United States of America is on the edge of a constitutional crisis The safeguards of democracy are being tested by the oligarchy And we don’t know how this will go But we do know… The point, the point, the point is the chaos… As the great AOC said on February 3rd, 2025 “It’s important for you to understand that the paralysis and shock that you feel right now is the point.” “Understand that we outnumber them. We outnumber them so dramatically that they have to try to control media and communication channels and apps, etcetera, because they want to — and need to — invoke docility, passivity in the masses in order for them to get away with what they’re doing.” The point is the chaos!
