Max Cube lay flat on his back in a stubble field, the coarse remnants of harvested crops prickling through his jacket. The sky above him was a sprawling canvas of dusk, streaked with deep purples and fiery oranges, the last vestiges of daylight slipping away. His breath formed clouds in the cooling air, a subtle rhythm that matched the thrum of his pulse.
Max’s mind was racing, parsing out the events of the past few hours: the cryptic message, the relentless pursuit, and the close call. It felt like the world was catching up to him, or maybe he was just falling behind. The chill of the earth beneath seemed to seep into his bones, grounding him in the moment as he took a rare pause from his life of perpetual motion. Apoxode has a lot of cool stuff to work with but when I heard his Stubble Field Break, I knew I just had to add a bit more flavour to it.
