Earlier this week, a fortunate mistake on the piano led to coming up with the hook for this track, the rest was a matter of stumbling around and then landing on some ideas that I was quite happy with.

If there’s any part of the process that I feel I’ve gotten better at by doing this almost every week, it’s arranging. My background is as a rock guitarist, and as such, tended towards a type of arrangement where everything revolves around the rhythm guitar.

It’s been rewarding to be able to split up the sound and give everyone clear parts and the space to play them, rather than piling on layers.
