Anthem for Doomed Youth

Wilfrid Owen’s WWI-era poem “Anthem for Doomed Youth”, read in a public domain sample by Karen Savage, who graciously volunteered her time, voice and public domain work to librivox.org.
The guitar piece which backs this is Verian Thomas’ “The Day We Ran Electricity Out to the Shed”, from his album of melodic guitar ambience, “Miniatures”, released on Negative Sound Institute at http://www.negativesoundins... pursuant to a Creative Commons license. Wilfrid Owen was killed while in the field, a few weeks before the Armistice which ended the first world war.
