The Story Behind “Snow Date”
It’s funny how life comes full circle sometimes. Back in 2015, I was snowed in one winter day, watching the world transform into a gorgeous white wonderland outside my window. I sat down at the piano and captured that feeling in a little 6/8 swing piece I called “snowdaze” – nothing fancy, just me trying to bottle up that cozy, contemplative mood. When airtone remixed my simple piano sketch into this lush, cinematic jazz piece with brass and strings, I was completely blown away. They added warmth and magic I never could have imagined on my own. Fast forward to now, and I had this story bouncing around in my head about an actual snow date – one of those sweet, unexpected moments when a friend’s cousin asks you out and suddenly winter doesn’t feel so lonely anymore. (Who says girls can’t ask guys out?!) I trained Suno with my voice and fed it airtone’s remix as reference. Kind of funny how it evolved from snow “daze” to snow “date,” right? It feels like the natural evolution of what started as a simple moment of wonder, now grown into something that celebrates both solitude and the beautiful surprise of human connection. Lyrics Snow Date (Verse 1) We carved our sleds from whatever we could find Laughed our way down that hill a hundred times The world was ours, just white and wild and free Till we hit those hidden tracks we couldn’t see (Verse 2) Wheels spinning, going nowhere fast Snow piled high, we were stuck at last Then headlights cut through the winter air Two strangers with a plow and crane were there (Chorus) Like angels out of nowhere in a pickup truck They pulled us from that snowbank where we were stuck Chain rattling, engine humming, setting us free That’s when you smiled and said to me “I was kinda hoping we’d be stuck here for a while” And I fell a little harder at that smile (Verse 3) Those guys just waved and drove off in the storm Left us standing there, our hearts still warm Not from the danger or the close call we just had But from the way you looked at me and laughed (Bridge) Sometimes salvation comes too soon When you’re not ready for the rescue When being stranded with someone Sounds better than being saved and done (Final Chorus) Like angels out of nowhere in a pickup truck They pulled us from that snowbank where we were stuck Chain rattling, engine humming, setting us free That’s when you smiled and said to me “I was kinda hoping we’d be stuck here for a while” And I knew right then beneath that smile You felt it too - this thing we’d found Was worth getting lost, worth staying down (Outro) In the snow, on those tracks, in that moment frozen still Yeah, I was kinda hoping too I was hoping that as well TECHNICAL DETAILS This AI-assisted track was created on Suno.com using my original 2015 recording as reference audio to train an AI vocal persona.
