From Ashdown Road he could see the old railway bridge that crossed the river. In the intervening years he had walked across it many times and marvelled at its engineering. It was on the bridge that he first spoke to Jessica as she waited for her lover who was a simple man from the local dairy but still carrying enough magic to make her heart beat faster. Despite their affection for each other they knew it was always going to be a short affair, for each had a family waiting for them to come home too. Last week men from the railways came with tools to take the old bridge apart. Three days later it was gone, taking the memories away with it.
