This track has a late night feel, with a bit of synth pop ballad merging into techo dance.

In terms of inspiration, I wanted to reflect the trapped feeling that some people feel in their day to day lives, which is lifted when they hit the town and are free to be “themselves”. They could be hitting the dance floor, treading the boards of the stage, or performing music in a bar.

Thanks go to Sackjo22 for the vocals, and also apologies for messing with a beautiful sound! The vocals were in a completely different key and tempo to the synth samples, so they’ve been bent and processed a fair bit to fit. Since I had to make alterations, I figured I might as well use artistic changes rather than purely functional ones.

Thanks also go to Flick3r on freesound.org, who has some great dance music sample sets with Creative Commons licencing.

The stems are downloadable as a ZIP file; the individual files are dry FLAC format, 16bit, 44kHz, mono.

P.S. The link between ccmixter and freesound.org wasn’t working when I uploaded my final mix, so I’ve manually listed below the samples that I used:
- oh-my: http://www.freesound.org/pe...
- Bounce seq 1: http://www.freesound.org/pe...
- Bounce seq 5: http://www.freesound.org/pe...
all the above are by user Flick3r, and licenced under Creative Commons attribution (CC-BY 3.0) licence. Note that the finsished track has a more restrictive CC-BY-NC licence.
