LET'S TAKE IT BACKby: ASHWAN
Classic Old School topped with Euro flavored ambience. If you’ve been out in the boonies somewhere you might not know that Ashwan is always delivering very solid hip-hop tracks to the masses. If I had to guess, I’d say he was a bit of a purist. Having said that, this track starts off with an almost Enigma or Massive Attack type intro and then delves into one of the grooviest grooves I’ve heard in a minute. The drums, bass and guitar alone are enough to satisfy my appetite for music. It kinda has a reggae vibe to it, but its distinctly hip-hop and all of the lyricists are on par with the production. I know you’ll enjoy this one.

Just Like Me
Everyone here at CC Mixter has the greatest respect for Pat Chilla the Beat Gorilla . This track shows us why. Very smooth and simple on the surface. Tons of goodies inside. This is one tasty piece of ear candy. : )

Black Atlanticby: LAVOURA ELETRO
Head snapping funk reminiscent of Bowie’s Young Americans era.
I resisted posted this as a ‘pick’ because of the nepotistic connection to this track, DJ Peregrine being my son after all, however after several days of enjoyment and pleasure I throw ethical caution to the wind and say let me and the Speaker of the House go down in flames together.

Digital Databy: ASHWAN
The cockney rapper stikes again. ASHWAN struts through the track with a jazzy acoustic bass, holding down the bottom while Curious trades spits with Chatterbox for a quick verse each. A short turn but defies you to not bob your head to the backbeat while both Curious and Chatter cuts through, up and around the beat.

I wish I could do something besides play guitar. Someone ought to sample this. Great Middle Eastern sounding track.

Another acoustic gem from Colin Mutchler. Similar to- My Life(prevoius pick) but with vocals and some more guitar. Very beautiful.

Samurai Storyby: shockshadow
Shockshadow makes music for all us 30 - somethings out there who got tired of techno and trance music a long time ago. Refreshing, mature and above all treats the listener with respect. Music that makes you feel smarter than you actually are. Well me anyways. : )
Plus anyone who gets inspired by Jet Li film ( turns out it was actually a double-bill of Hero and Last Samurai he was watching) and then goes makes a song about it is A-OK in my books.

A Night In the Desertby: shockshadow
Peaceful, serene, beautiful. An ambient dream.
shockshadow really does capture the mood of a night in the desert in this one: dark but hopeful, steady yet melodic. By the times the drums kick in you see the clouds clearing from the bright moon and stars lighting up the night. Just about every sound in this piece is in the right place.

Excepting this Fat Reactionby: Minus Kelvin
Electronica with soul , creative and exciting. The perfect blend of engaging but not distracting. The amount of effort put into a Minus piece is masked by the smooth, seemless results.
If you liike instrumental virtual turntable music, Minus is definitely a Mixter to watch.
