Welcome to ccMixter

“…releasing music is communication. Nowadays, that means participation and that is what ccMixter offers. It is a combination of the two, letting fans and music people participate and communicate together, with you, with me and create new music and ideas.”
DJ Vadim

Featured Collaboration: The White Cube Remix Project

Oslo’s RAM Galleri Exhibits ccMixter's White Cube Remix Project

Organized by ccMixter artists Gurdonark and SackJo22, The White Cube Remix project helps redefine the gallery experience by introducing sound and music into the traditionally quiet gallery space. SackJo22 and Gurdonark composed, recorded and uploaded themed source material that reflected the central themes of this exhibition -- light and winter in the north. In less than one month, more than 94 original compositions, from ambient music to chill beats, were created for the project.

SackJo22 and Gurdonark compiled a playlist of compositions onto an mp3 player that will be installed in the RAM Galleri, providing more than six hours of original music as a soundtrack for the White Cube exhibition (click on the player below to listen). The installation will include an interactive component--a computer in the gallery where visitors can further explore the music, the artists, and the intent of Project by visiting http://thewhitecube.info.  Here at ccmixter.org visitors can explore the remix history and musical source for the contributed compositions by viewing this playlist.

The visual art for the project "White Drones and Tones" is the contribution of ccMixter artist hepepe.hu.
