Dear Mixters,
We have a unique opportunity to collectively produce a holiday album that will benefit Tibet. Please respond to this thread with a link to your spoken word or a capella track with content related to Winter Solstice, Christmas, Chanukah, Kwanza, etc. Songs in public domain are great! Feel free to also add links here to your remixes. The committee will need to select the final songs (for mastering) by Sept 23. Credits and any resulting revenues post fund raising will be shared amongst the contributors. A special thanks to those of you already participating in this project! ~Snowflake |

Oh, and please upload the highest quality stems and remixes (flac or 320k mp3 preferred). Then we will not lose any quality transcoding into the various formats for the album!

who will be adding the music to all the a-capella or spoken word tracks?
Just curious. here is one offering - an original lyric: http://ccmixter.org/files/a... here is the pell version: http://ccmixter.org/files/a... if original songs are not what you are after…I would like to attempt an old carol - perhaps early music or medieval. |

I am sure you will do great. You are incredibly musical, seem to have technical know-how (i.e., you know I what a .flac file is — I, personally, have no idea), and I would guess, probably have some great resources available to you to help you find your way! Nevertheless, I completely understand. This is officially my second remix ever — although I really consider it to be my first because the first one was practically ready made. Good luck with your remix — can’t wait to hear it!

Hello. I just uploaded a short, cheerful, traditional Chanukah tune called “Sevivon.” I am still hoping to complete an original holiday song that I am writing, but between secret mixter and vacation, I did not know that I would complete it a timely fashion. Based on my initial research, there are no copyright or licensing issues with this traditional song.

I just uploaded another offering for the holiday album project called The Light . While inspired by the story of Chanukah, the intent of the song is to explore the universal theme of the significance of light.

my father’s wife wanted to know what the artist is called from track 6, today :-) I could tell her after I looked it up here and that the very good female singer has doen almost more songs. thanks to all the artists from this album! great work! it’s not the same soup as all christmas…. all liked it so far :-) |
