J.Mitchell is a man of multi-dimensional talents— art director, illustrator, writer, dancer and actor— a veteran in the field of the arts.
In 2011, J.Mitchell also known as JStrike reveals one of his many born given talents on his new upcoming album to be launched this year.
As an artist/songwriter/composer/producer, J.Mitchell embraces his craft and shares his experience as a true artist by de…finition, in hopes to influence fans and supporters to reach a level that has long since vanished from this era of music.
J.Mitchell/ JStrike has produced and/or collaborated with artists nationally and internationally including Cj3, Chantie, Pho3nix, 2ManClan, Rick Charles, Illatant, Briggzy, Relly AllStar, Legal Eyez, BigFoot, Gabre Coore, Slik-K, Poetik Justiz, Amadi, Hayleigh McNeil, Mikael Hansson [colab], Tim Basaillon [ManaJunkie], CBK, A Conscious, Riddle, Warren Williams, Magmavander, Leith Kingsley, Blue Jones, Introspect and many more.
The grandson of the legendary Father of Soca and The Love Man, Ras Shorty; Raised in East York/North York and second oldest of 9 siblings.
Born into a musical family, J.Mitchell holds a strong essence of 70’s, 80’s and 90’s soul R&B, Hip Hop, Soul combined with an edgy eclectic touch of Rock, Alternative, and Industrial influence.
With artist influences such as Eric Benet, A Perfect Circle, Notorious B.I.G., Dru Hill, Evanescence, Jay-Z, Boyz II Men, Anita Baker, Nas, Luther Vandross, Janet and Michael Jackson— J.Mitchell describes himself as ” a man of many personalities”.
From his classy/edgy style, flowing lyrics and harmonic composition, J.Mitchell opens a door to self awareness, and deep self exploration which he believes is key to the essence within ones’ self and the essence of music.
