…from ‘Drifting Toward Light’
~Bliss~(New Year’s Day 2006) For rain and relaxation I am grateful after heat and fireworks, New Year’s Eve indulgences it is blissful to lie about and read, to drift into light sleeps wake to raindrops on acacia leaves and shining agapanthus sparrows playful, joyous on tin roof and in bird bath the day is quiet I listen to some poetry I’ve taped strum on the guitar wash lunch dishes as though they were sacred objects content with simplicity, aware of deep peace words flow to become this poem ~ bliss.
