Now We Are One

Beyolie take’s SackJo22’s Now We Are One to another level with this mix. It’s a very cool sound Beyolie has here and it should be an anthem for the summer of 2017.

Demons Got a Hold on Me

Okay, Sherman, set the Wayback Machine to 1970’s when AM radio was king and that you can turn into one of the funkiest stations this side of the Mississippi radio.

texasradiofish has created a fantastic sound that could be a throwback to the days of yore.

It’s a freakin’ awesome ride.

wayOutHere

Airtone adds his magic to the beautiful vocals of Debenedictis and takes us back to a time when AM radio was king and a song that Stevie Nicks might have done.

Love the feel and flow of this one!

Come Back 2 Me

Tobias Weber(Aussensaiter) is a very good guitarist and producer. With the voice of song boy, he created a wonderful soul track. Listen to “Come Back 2 Me”.

Surrender (ft. Snowflake)

Martijn de Boer takes Surrender and makes it one heck of an epic song. Snowflake’s vocals are cushioned in with the music to give it that layered 80’s sound. It reminds me of a Bonnie Taylor singing along to a Jan Hammer beat.

Kudos.

Freedom

Okay Sherman set the way back machine to the late 70’s or early 80’s when synth-pop was born.

Karstenholymoly not only takes me back to the days of when I was transitioning from teen to adult. When my world was young and foolish and dancing up a storm in little clubs.

It get’s a definite thumbs up from me.

The Code of My Heart

I am thrilled to select “The Code of My Heart” remix by gurdonark as my first editorial pick on CCmixter. This off kilter refrain is an example of the alchemy inherent to the mixter mission.

Derived from two samples by speck, this track creates an original and ethereal mood by weaving a syncopated motif into a free floating ostinato. This track will pair nicely with other elements in a mix.

For me “The Code of My Heart” evokes fond musical memories of guitarists Bill Frissell, Robert Fripp, or Andy Summers in the way a short idea is given freedom to wander in effortless self-examination.

This composition also caught my attention in its explicit effort to comment on our “Crack the Code” theme for this event. I give gurdonark props for making a gesture towards human vulnerability with this heartfelt contribution.
