I was wondering…

I’ve just had a look at entries of the crammed discs contest and I didn’t see any mention about samples comming from the magnatune pool.

We ARE allowed to use them, right? I haven’t ask about it to this day because it seemed pretty obvious that those samples were: by; nc as stipulated in the rules. But then again, all this legal stuff is rather hard to understand when your english is average like mine. Just wanted to make sure!

I’m not up for giving legal advice but afaik the resulting remix has to be ShareAlike so, no, don’t use Magnatune stuff (unless you get explicit permission from the label).

Didn’t realize that the remix album is actually going to be a commercial release.

commercial is a secondary factor in your question, it’s the ShareAlike clause that’s the stopper.
