Ergh, is this really as bad and useless as a "1"?

Yeesh, is this really as good and useful as a "5"?

Seem off balance for both, to me.

One mans onion is another mans lampshade I guess PC…. I’m never too keen on ratings or reviews as it can hinder / affect the creative process.

The two sets in question seem fine and useful to me, as your explanations say. Am I right in thinking you don’t get a name with a rating? so you don’t know who rated you?

If people were browsing for sounds and saw a 1 / 5 rating, theres a good chance they wouldn’t even preview it to find out for themselves.

hmmm, interesting one.

The "1" is silly. Perhaps my "5" for the other is excessive, but it’s a solid, useful simple thing,
at least a "4".

We can’t get too worked up, though, about trollish "1" ratings on ordinary work, nor too pleased about "5" ratings, either, for that matter.

*nod* I’d agree. I thought both the 5 and the 1 were off. The ‘industrial’ drum pack is surely useful and a differant drum sound, but I don’t think it’s the genius a 5 is. The slow break pack is nothing special but I don’t think it’s so useles and bad as to be a 1. (Personally, I’d say they’re about a 3.5 and 3 respectively, but we all know the dangers of judging one’s own work.)

*Usually* the ratings are roughly accurate to me on those things that have at least a couple. But there’s always those oddities.
