I am trying to upload an acapella and I am receiving the error that the file is an unrecognized file format.

It is an mp3 and had been tested in iTunes, Windows Media Player and WinAmp.

Help?

Some open source and freeware encoders seem to be the problem. Encoding with Fruity Loops or ACID seem to work fine.

the most likely cause is a known bug in an older version of the LAME encoder (default for tools like Audacity)

More details here.

updating to a new version is the best solution, using VBR is another workaround.

Hope that helps,
Victor
