When I hear an interesting voice, I always try to encourage the artist to post on the mixter. Perhaps it’s time to go looking for great and unique voices out there.

I don’t mean to sound condescending, but have you exhausted such resources as the Internet Archive, Freesound, or the Magnatune catalog, without finding any legally remixable female acapellas that hold a spark of potential inspiration?
Not trying to be a smartass, just wondering- sure, there’s a lot of sameness out there, but there’s a goodly amount of talent, too; it all depends on what exactly you’re looking for. |

Most of the time,i never know what i’m looking for. sometimes that depends of my mood, or sometimes even of the outside weather. I just pick up a vocal as soon i find there is something inspiring enough in it for me. Thanks god I ended up on ccmixter when i was intensively googling for acapella tracks and discovered here vocals i i enjoyed and i did remixes for. So i was just asking out there if there might be more resources that i would not know the existence. |

You can always find a female vocalist somewhere that’s willing to collab with you. You can always check out Bands and talent on myspace or other places. If you find somebody with a voice you dig give them a pitch at doing this.
