When I first heard admiralbob's Floating Dollheads track, I was instantly drawn to the fat overdrive power guitar chords in the background. Thought it sounded very much like GnR's "Knockin' On Heavens Door". After sitting on it for a while, I came up with this rock guitar instrumental interpretation. I know the title isn't very imaginative but I associated "Dollheads" with "Goo Goo Dolls".

Have uploaded the lead guitars, and also one without the leads. Maybe someone can come up with a more coherent melody. Anyway, I had fun jamming to this. Thanks to the admiral.

Susan made me realize how many awesome ladies have come around since I did the last ccchickster. So this is kind of a follow up tribute to some of those I missed in the first one. And I realize there's more I missed, who'll have to wait for the next one. So many fine ladies, so little time! What's a fella to do?

All the backing music for this came from Echoed's most tasty source pack for his "spectre" mix. Great stuff man and thanks for sharing it.

To paraphrase Ciggi "you don't know how lucky i am to be with you..." :)

Okay, here's the instrumental remix (will prob save AJ's pella for another project)...

Like before, this is still an early draft, and am still working out the drum beat's layers, levels, and timing.. to follow and accent IC and FB's instrumental.

Note: The whole track has a .75s delay now (so that crunch at the beginning won't drive any of us crazy any more)..

A mix of two artists who have samples available on ccmixter.org. The original Bucky Johnson instrumental was electronically dissolved and the vocals were degraded on magnetic tape in a chamber below a pyramid for six hundred and sixty six days. The electronic rhythm stops about two-thirds of the way and the vocal tapes unwind.

P.S. The track should be properly known as "untitled" but the track title presented here is a textual reference to the song's form.

Bitter Pill

You put me in the state I'm in
can't tell if I am coming
going where I've been
With eyes too large
and legs so long
in golden skin
a slippery nipple ripe and firm
pokes out my eyes
and tastes like sin.

You put me in the state I'm in
can't tell if I am coming
going where I've been
your magic weaves
against my will
Don't realize I'm hypnotised
by bitter pill

It swirls around my mouth
I can't begin
the towtruck into Tuscon fast
my head a spin
The mirror on the wall it laughs
while peeking in
I wish I could remember
all the night that's been.

You put me in the state I'm in
can't tell if I am coming
going where I've been
your magic weaves
against my will
Don't realize I'm hypnotised
by bitter pill

(with bitter pill)

I wonder if I'll see you soon?
You left your coat
Caught up in my lonely room
I read your note
"Good luck with all the Martian chasn"
is what you wrote
my harddrive now deflated
feel I've missed the boat

You put me in the state I'm in
Yeah oh!
can't tell if I am coming
or where I've been!
Don't realize that I'm hypnotised
with bitter pill

You put me in the state I'm in
can't tell if I am coming
going where I've been
your magic weaves
against my will
Don't realize I'm hypnotised
by bitter pill
by bitter pill

Mirror Mirror

If I
could look away
and see you in the mirror
all I'd have to say

The image of your face
reflects away
in space its seems
you're just a hundred miles away

Where shadows cast and ride
reflection is deception
if you choose to hide
the mirror in our way
If only God could hear us now
we might be OK

I've seen in the news today
the planets are aligning
in peculiar ways
I've climbed upon the breadnife
for the stars that play
and echoed thoughts
of fathers long gone yesterday

Where shadows cast and ride
reflection is deception
if you choose to hide
the mirror in our way
If only God could help us now
We might be OK
right to stay

Where shadows cast and ride
reflection is deception
if you choose to hide
the mirror in our way
If only they could hear us now
We might be OK

The backing music in its original form was to become the first part of a slightly experimental five-part piece called The Hague Invasion Act. When I decided to drop that idea I still wanted to do something with what I had already written for that first part. Joe's spoken word piece A Vision was the perfect victim for that.

The drum parts are free midi drum grooves from OddGrooves for Toontrack's ezdrummer sample player.

The music is based on prime numbers.

It is still slightly experimental.

Now I really have to continue with what I was working on...

This is a mix I created originally back in late 2008 (or early 2009?!) which I've updated with a few new sounds etc.

I've litterally bounced this to disk about 24 times because I wasn't happy with the vocal levels. To high, to low in the mix, I just couldn't get it right. Hopefully its now at a level that lets both the music at the vocals live together in the same space.

A quick note to all the regular (and new!) reviewers... THANK YOU. The reason I stay passionate about this site and continue to drop new mixes is because your opinions mean something.

I thought I'd try something different with this acapella after listening to the other songs on here. This is not finished so please excuse the overall level & EQ.

Basically, I'm just wanting to gauge if I should finished this or not...
