My remixer pick was Martinsea!

This is a tribute to "What Is Love?" by Deee-Lite. Their song starts with the words "What Is Love?"

Due to the casino sounds I did not hit "ccplus opt in"

All sounds are previously unmixed!

I only one one kick drum and some swoosh sounds that were commercial. Everything else is ccmixter.

Okay, so this project sprung entirely from "Fade Out" by New Radical Fate. I originally envisioned a production piece that called for me to microslice up the drums and elements but everything slapped together so well that didn't happen.

In my mind I had a super chill laid back and happy song.

And then as I prepared to upload it to streaming services (It goes global on Feb 9th) I read the details on "Pound The Walls." My entire track was also literally layered with sounds of the suicide of the Jonestown Cult, which made "The Fade Out" all that more ominous of a title.

A happy song

So I leaned into it for the cover imagery.

Just a fun freestyle with lots of puns! 1990s jocular lyrics, but I left the misogyny out.

Puns will be explained on acapella upload tomorrow.

Get the .wav file for free on Bandcamp!

No flash in the pan coronal mass ejection
Crying like an Incel that couldn't handle rejection
Couldn't handle inspection here comes deflection
Improper perspective you're just defective
I brought the artillery, shots are fired
Gimped and gelded you should retire
I can't be your sire! Don't know your broodmare
Transform like the thing, who goes there?
It is I, your lowness, the herald on a surfboard
Galactic turf wars send you to the burn ward
Spurned couldn't earn more when you turned whore
Your repertoire is leaving you sore.
Herby Hancock or Herby The Love Bug
Observing you squirm with the clap it's rough
Calling Air Bud even a dog can dunk you
You're sunk beau, marathon you got run through
--------------
((Bridge))
--------------
Keep it dirty, put the mop in the closet
Rockin out of socket part time prophet
No Jim Jones but I got the flavor aid
Pouring my entire heart where rhymes are made
Hidden gems, a quarry of poetry
Packed liked grocery bags inside low country
Picked from the orchard where my ancestors worked
Bring the blasphemous noise? boy you'll get hurt
No autolatry, where's your mind lately
Stuck in a reflection of your self hating
Narcissus but inverted it's a crisis
You're breaking apart like the god Osiris
Your plus is a minus can't see, you're eyeless
Can't hear otitis, got encephalitis
Your ego's as blown up as a lawn ornament
But you're thinned skin you won't win this tournament
--------------
((Bridge))
--------------
Down in the burrow, undermining
The walls of your Castle, your silver lining
Steal your silver spoon, send Alfonso home
Different strokes pinche cabron
Well Tonto here comes the chupacabra
Candleablra lit phantom of the opera
Close caper drama long distance bomber
Through your defenses catch you in pajamas
Time for sleep nighty night little kiddos
Pennywise coming for his tender vittles
Smells like bacon! Good rhymes for a treat
For good girls and boys moving to this beat
Burst like thunder and shine like Helios
So appealing yet only appearing to those
Not like revelation but dark invocation
Calling Cthulu back from vacation

Imagine billions of years of ice thawing before your eyes. Glaciers receding. Great rocks being carved for the eons.

-------------------

AI Generated MIDI from two sources:
Melodies came from this page it's completely free

And then Bassliner from Dreeemwave.

Tronic is a drum synthesizer technically not AI but daaaaaaaang the lines are getting so blurred with the tech now.

Key of A.

All sounds are from onboard synths and various VSTs.

There are 6 MIDI patterns and 6 BASS midi files.

In order to keep under the 50 meg limit I could only upload a reverse cymbal and the bass loop wavs.

Drawing cdk filled me with excitement, nostalgia, and joy. He's truly one of the artists here who has musically inspired me most -- from the very start. So it seemed appropriate to cross this monumental 21st anniversary with his stems Finish Line.

I started writing to Fact and Finish Line in parallel but this one started to consume me. I hope to circle back to Fact as well; those stems are also of the highest quality.

CDK, you're a generous muse.

Here's the pell :)

A special thanks to John Jones for mastering my mix that I struggled so hard to balance.

A very happy 21st birthday to everyone here in our community. While the bad in the world seems loud, the art we create through connection is more powerful. Thank you all - you mean so much more to me than you'll ever know. I love ccMixter.

Hyperspeed
By Madam Snowflake

In this era of demise love is complicated
Fathers, daughters draw lines politics are over-weighted
Pulling left and right arms apart
In the middle lies the heart
Who can defibrillate it?

Continental, our divide, its formulated
Strategy refined, blurring hatred with the sacred
And we wait it out
Till the tower falls down
On the land thats degraded

Love in a way they dont understand
Light in the dark, they cant comprehend
Live in a way they wont understand
They dont understand
They wont understand

Guard your energy
In Rumis field were planting seeds
Nourish your energy
What you will grow is what you feed
Align your energy
So we can jump to hyperspeed
Protect your energy
Because I need you
And you just might need me too

Paralysis is their intention
Fascism is no new invention
Spewing sickness on the hour
Contagion of power
Spreading by vicious contention
A faceless militia kidnapping us
Not to mention

Love in a way they dont understand
Light in the dark, they cant comprehend
Live in a way they wont understand
They dont understand
They wont understand
They dont understand
They wont understand
They dont understand
They wont, they wont

Guard your energy
In the qunantum field were planting seeds
Nourish your energy
For what you ask you will receive
Align your energy
So we can jump to hyperspeed
Protect your energy
Because I need you
I need you
And you just might need me too

They wont change by shaming
Debating or blaming
Its no use complaining
They wont change by shaming
Debating or blaming
Its useless explaining
They have lost their way
And theres no one you can save
From the hotbed they have made
They have lost their way
We have lost our way
They have lost their way
Theres nothing you can say
So just be change

Guard your energy
Out in the field were planting seeds
Nourish your energy
What you will find is what you seek
Align your energy
So we can jump to hyperspeed
Protect your energy
Because I need you
We can jump to hyperspeed
I need you
We can jump to hyperspeed
I need you
We can jump to hyperspeed
I need you

These songs are instructions for my kids and future grandkids.

Written from, but not limited to, the male perspective.

The song was constructed with three different recordings of the acapella. The whisper Pella and the middle Pella, are all that you hear until the beat drops. Then the whisper pellet totally goes away. And then it's just the middle Pella and the main pella. The middle pellet is under a phaser plug-in, the whole song that kind of gives it the ethereal feel. I did this instead of splicing up the vocals like I've done recently. I wanted to see if it was a more effective way for time.

Do keep in mind that after the beat dropped the whisper Pella is no longer chopped to match the timing of the main Pella because I do have to fix words. Right now my performances are getting better and certainly recording a lot faster, But not quite perfectly on time just yet.

------------------

The sun rises and the LIGHT begins
They see life through an unfiltered lens
A red thread is measured with an open end
They come when they come and they come when they're sent
Whether unintended or whether they were meant
There's no time like now please comprehend
Everyone is born so innocent
no exceptions repeat me, no rules to bend
Time flies like the birds on the street
The night closes in and it's time for sleep
But who protects them in their dreams so deep
From harmful strangers and milk carton creeps
Well that's you It's actually sweet
Do the job that's due There's benefits to reap
Once they're born, there is no retreat
Running from this is low self defeat
-------------------------
The elite of parents are seen apparent
Obvious lies become transparent
Understand what you give em they'll return
That negative vibe will become your concern
Unruly eventually SURLY get turned
The end of childhood bullies are spurned
Just like tires get burned, the smoke is prolific
Deserving are served injuries are horrific
This is why, you Protect Their Peace
This is why, you Protect Their Peace
watch your mouth put your actions on a leash
If you don't cease you'll be known as a beast
It's a game of chess, silently plan your moves
But focus on happiness not times removed
Differences get smooth if that's even possible
If it's impossible the seek the most optimal
----------------------
What do you value, what do you want
Bad choices becomes phantoms sometimes they haunt
Sublime, unwanted, it came from the start
Undaunted Exalted It came from the heart,
differences torn apart think ahead be smart
Life is so sweet but it is also tart
Don't pucker if you're stuck with an unlucky draw
Seek succor we all get bucked with a short straw
It's not unusual is a Tom Jones song
But it's crucial understand it's long gone
Sing a different tune, times are changing
The whole family format's rearranging
But stay enaging, you are the kid's anchor
Their safe space, no judgement or anger
This is your job, your duty to care
If you don't they'll know you weren't there
