hey i like this alot…good use of the chords to give it a laid back feel, and the samples move around enough so it stays alive and kickin…very clever man.

I keep waiting for George Clinton to say ”where did u get that funk from”. Love that funky ass bass and the Ronnie Laws influence. Great mix, Great track.

This track has been on many of my mixtapes, but as I’m window shopping on any and everything ccmixter, J.Lang makes a point. When I first heard this I immediately paralleled this to some Parliment/Funkadelic type stuff, mostly due to the bass line and its being ever so slightly off kilter. At this moment of revisitation it sounds even more funkier than I remembered. I guess my point is that the ccmixter archives really has some great gems hidden in cyberspace storage. ccMixter’s average direction in sound/genre is forever changing so fast that this track almost has a melancholy feel to it. To me, thats a trip.

Very nice. I just have one question. Aisde from the P-Funk vibe, why does this song remind me of Steely Dan?
