uploaded chunk of the gtr, this was a one-take affair, I can do a lot better if there’s something specific.

Yeah This is a Fourstones THANG!!!!!! Funky ass Bass, wah wah guitar and that sweet groove. I’m digging this VS. Very nice work, Thanks for the insight on how you cooked this sweet groove up.
As you know i’m still kinda new to this whole digital thang. I’m looking into using rex files soon with reason 4, by way of recycle ( soon i hope)
Reading what you did with rex files, i think i’m going to have alot of fun.
Again …Really nice mix.

having slices of any sample map to midi keys/triggers gives me more options than cutting them up on the screen (which is also really important for me to do). Unfortunately for me, with Reason I often feel stuck with the slices because they don’t do wav editing and I don’t want to go back into Recycle to make adjustments.

To be honest, I want it all right there in the main host.

Cool, and hot at the same time…the sultry side of Shannon. Great stuff - I knew there was more to you than passive agression ;-).

and I agree with the others who say or will say…upload the whole groove, it cooks :-).

You got the funk, no doubt. Love what you did with the bass- I didn’t even realize it was acoustic, until reading the HIDI…

After having read the wonderful and totally interesting interview with VS(@ spin: you did a very great job on this interview. this and the CG interview is much better than some interviews in musical magazines I have read!), I got a better imagination fromwhere he is coming and what is his background (not only in a musical sense).
I dig this sound and production and btw, thanks for the detailed “HIDI”. Always interessting to see, how the pro_s are working and have same problems like us mortals;-)!

Very nice, love the sad little woodwind and string stabs against that funky wah wah guitar. I’ll have to go watch some 70s porn, just for my musical education of course.

As a guitar player I’ve used wah peddles in all their guises for many years and for me the sound is now too dated to be used to much effect in my work.

But you have managed to take the sound and make it a central part of the mix and give it a fresh feeling that sounds so good.

Think I’ll go and dig out the old Morley and give it some pressing!!

You managed to make those flutes sound incredibly menacing..
This song is fantastically funky!!

My neck is starting to ache, bobbing it back n forth. Groove-tastic is the word im looking for. My personal favorites in this track are ofcourse the vox, but the beat and throbbing bass. It drives the entire track’s groove. Also like the filtered (and vocal retriggered) section in the middle. Great stuff.
