I know whatever you remix is going to be a treat and this is no exception. Everything is right in the pocket which makes the groove amazing. Once again A+ TRF :)

It was an experiment and a new experience. Glad you like it.

Started off as an exercise to try some of Bill Ray’s drum samples. Cut some loops out of his “Tama Warlord Series” sample file. With a couple beat edits inside one of the drum loops, the exercise morphed into a way to try out some African pellas.

Some of the best ideas start like that! Even mistakes lead to some interesting things too as well as sliding a sample to the wrong spot or looping the song at a random point and hearing something special!

Absolutely. Some of my best tracks, rhythms and effects where born of mistakes. Usually caused by busy fingers at the keyboard (both kinds) and track ball/mouse.

On Badabing Badaboom, I mistakenly routed the one guitar riffs to a vocoder creating a really cool 1960s Hendrix-like effect.

Yep, misplacing a sample or sliding the drum rhythm a click or two has yielded some cool results.

I really like the African music (Richard Bona bass guitarist author)
There were some occasions when I was playing Djembe drummers, of course, on cajon.
I think they’ll meet again sometime.

The mix is excellent. I love it.

I love this track! What a fantastic vibe you created — earthy, optimistic, warm, organic (despite the scratch bit which isn’t exactly organic but fit perfectly in the context of the track) — absolutely fabulous!
