Amazing! You take a bunch of samples and create something new and totally of your own conception. And as before you get a mystical, meditative feel. Impressive vision, concept and production techniques—many thanks for working on this—a profound and thought-provoking piece. In a way it distils what I was trying to achieve with my John Martyn-style uploads. Yeah, it’s got a kind of purity. Excellent!

Again thanks to you for providing a wealth of high quality material.

Did you listen also to the more ambient alternate mix? I’d be interested to get your feedback on that. I wasn’t sure I liked this mix so I took out the vocals (for simplicity’s sake) and got carried away with splitting channels, echoing, reversing, slowing etc. It’s eight and a half minutes of, well I don’t know of what but it was an interesting exercise in trying to make something that could be taken for pure ambient. Ended up sounding like something I once heard on a Steve Reich remix disc.

Hi Speck and thanks for this. I listened to the extended (non-vocal) mix and yes, very impressive indeed! The opening reminded me of the opening bars to Pat Metheney’s “The Way Up” (see http://www.youtube.com/watc... although the piece as a whole began to conjure up space/cosmos/satellites imagery. It’s amazing how you find the poetry in these sounds—fine work.

Your last four uploads have been quite soft (for being you) and this one takes the throne of softness, no doubt. Lovely piece, meditative and floating qualities in abundance.

I have one more soft one coming up - a version of your History Of Longing.

re stretching: you may find Paul’s Extreme Sound Stretch useful (assuming you don’t have it already)
