Thank you. So often, the sound or the noise of a piece is more important to me than its beat, so I am always more inclined to leave odd things and slight beat misfires in for juxtaposition. But I thought that here it was smarter, as you suggested, to be more traditional with it. Thanks for your ideas, which helped me.

Next, we’ll have to get Jayson to read an experimental poem for an ambient mix :).

Cool! It may be some weeks, but there is something cool about having a kid’s voice to do a reading, and Jayson has a great voice for a spoken word on top of something chill.

funky g! I never would have guessed this is you.

The differing levels of reverb on the various instruments (and the vocals) gives this a little bit of an ‘unfinished’ sound.

typically filmic feel and you set a high bar conceptually trying to work all these elements together, not sure you’re 100% there.

I wanted to do something the ad-libbers might enjoy, and I could not figure out how to do my usual stuff with a “bangin’ beat”.

I finally got a good use for that freesound funky beat that I downloaded saying “too cool to resist, but how will I ever use this?”.

Good constructive criticism! It really would benefit from some uniformity in the reverb amid the samples—did a bit, but it could use more. Fun to stretch into something fun, but next time I’ll stretch better.
