Drugs of Zulu! Very cool arrangement here debz, like the way the music opens opens and then changes throughout the mix. Kudos!

strong piece, nicely paired. great arrangement Deb. really pulls me in. you may want to try turning down Colin’s vocal 2 to 3 db and then try turning up the entire track a 1- 3 db - then remixing. you may want to try a de-esser on his vocal too? the track is powerful as is :)

Thanks snowflake. I’d love to try this. Unfortunately I lost my Mixcraft project file, so will have to begin from scratch. But I feel it’s worth it. I also discovered later that Colin has uploaded a new and better recording so will have a listen to that and see if I can improve the mix. I do all my mixes in headphones (necessarily) so I sometimes miss the finer points. I can hear now that Papa Zulu’s tracks need to come up a bit.

I’ve remixed it and hope it sounds much better now. If I need to tweak a bit more at least I have another project file now!

Terrific composition Deb. I can definitely hear growth in your mixing. Some tweking as suggested by Snowflake would only enhance an already powerful piece. Bravo!

Thanks for listening and commenting SackJo….see my reply to snowflake above. I’m keen to give this a try when I have time.

Great arrangement debbizo - I have tried a few times and always have trouble making something with spoken word - but now I realize its been under my nose all along! Thank you.

p.s. thanks for sticking with it after losing the project files - I definately know that is a very traumatic event (emotionally and practically)

I really love your tracks as mixed here…I might use them again for my own spoken word in a different arrangment. I created the project again from scratch…but it was worth it!

I’ve always thought Colin is a dead ringer for Lou Reed and this just plays up the quirky Underground possibilities. Good backdrop to the narrative.

Papa’s metal rocking and Colin’s biting prose are an excellent pairing. Very well done. (Sorry to hear about the technical difficulties.)
