Hahaha - thanks - and please don’t be honoured - it was my pleasure. :)

Glad you liked, and thanks for taking the time to leave a comment.

Hahah - thanks for coming back to this track. I think the old quality assurance last night was negatively impacted by the five pints of Stella I’d had earlier. :)

BTW - what’s the “translate” option in reviews, and how come it only shows up under your reviews?

Thanks Becks.

The chord sequence? Honestly, I can’t remember - the Rhodes have a E min 9/D maj 9 combo I think, but I also play A/C/G on the electric bass if I remember correctly, so the harmonies end up a bit more complex.

Thanks for the thumbs up.

Oops. Forgot to mention that I updated the track just a bit, so if you’re doing to download a version then use the new one. :)

Strong catchy start. The pauses between beats works great. But I think Snowflake’s pell could do with a bit more quantization. Some parts of it sounded off-beat to me. Was that deliberate?

Ahh - the vocals. I went back to listen to it this morning and you’re right. It wasn’t a quantizing issue, but a timing one. I ended up moving the start of the vocals by a fraction to fix it.

I also changed the start just a bit to reduce the build-up time.

Good suggestions - thanks for listening and commenting.

Thanks!

It was time for me to do something more dancey - glad you liked. I tuned the intro just a bit now to have the elec chords play right from the start.

Thanks for the comment - much appreciated.

Lovely tight mix that’s so clean it shines, with all sorts of subtle components in action, handled with your customary understated classiness. Ms Snow’s voice is the frosting on the cake: sweetly husky then strong and clear as a bell. Delicious, Mikael. xxxx

Thank ye kindly.

Glad you mention the vocals, because it’s a heck of a recording. Very emotional, and it was very inspiring.

Thanks for the note - very nice to get the thumbs up.

Listened to this mix a couple of times yesterday evening but was frankly too tired to write anything (Caught a terrible Cold in Oslo). Also, this is so perfect and it’s hard to comment on perfection. Good job, man.

Tackar tackar - väldigt skoj att höra. Det var ett tag sen jag gjorde den här sortens låt, så det var skoj att experimentera lite grann.

Hoppas att du mår bättre snart igen.

Sometimes it’s great to be a bit late to the party, because from reading the reviews above, I see that my first listen is to the “improved” track. And I must say, I love it! This type of track is an unexpected treat from you. I love how you incorporate the persuasive beat of a house track in a very gentle way so that Snowflake’s vocals remain up front and expressive. Terrific job!

Ahh now - that’s great to hear, because that’s pretty much exactly what I was trying for.

Thanks for the listen, and for the nice words.

wow, nice playin with the vocal but the most hitting thing for me is the chord/stabb (maybe a malstroem?) that one sounds great to me.

Thanks! Nice to get a review on this track as it’s an older one - glad you liked.

Re: chord stab - the one that plays right from the start is actually a REX loop from a commercial library - can’t remember which one.
