The easy, casual jazz underpinning of that bass, along with the gentle melodic elements mixed in and among the keys, makes me feel like I am at a gathering of friends, audience and musician, and everyone is listening, and hearing, and smiling. loved this. musicality.

Thank you for that. I really couldn’t ask for a better description for this. Much appreciated.

I keep looking at your little pic in the expectation to one day see a little smile of accomplishment after one of your most excellent remixes. But alas, it’s still the serious, strong silent Swedish type! :-)

One day, maybe. But not today. :)

Thanks for the very kind words on the music - I really appreciate it.

I’ve broken out in body prickles listening to this, it is so utterly beautiful and sensitive, lingering tantalisingly in all the right places. I just love it. Thank you so much for this, C. xxxx

Thank you yourself. When I heard your song with PM’s guitar I just knew I wanted to work with you both, but it took me a while to get to the right place before I could get started.

Really glad you liked. It was my pleasure making it.

And you know it was your guitar that brought out Ciggi’s vocals in the first place - it’s just beautiful work.

Thanks for the many thumbs up - it means something to me.

Absolutely gorgeous Colab. You and Ciggi make a formidable team, I’d love to own an album of this quality. Instrumentation and mix technique is as always top of the bar. Nice work

Thanks for the really nice words. I would join PM in the Ciggi Burns trio anytime - and I’m fairly cheap - I charge in pints of Stella.

Re: mixing - thanks for that. This was not a straightforward track to mix because there’s so much silence in it, and I was worried about the balance. Glad you liked.

Agree with Spinmeister, a little grin on your face would be appropriate after the delivery of what must be one of your best uploads here ever.
Very senstive, delicate and respectful treatment of the source material (Ciggi have never sounded better) The success factor, in my opinion. is that you’ve left so much space in the arrangement. Enough space to breath for each individual instrument. Gorgeous!

Thank you very much Per.

At first I had a very dense and rhythmic piano - but then I found myself re-recording it, and each time I stripped things out until I ended up with this. Thanks for pointing it out - very glad you liked.

Not sure, Panu, I’ve only met him once.
Hey Colab, can we have another picture? This time in profile , keep smiling just turn 90 degrees. Must check and verify.

simple and beautiful like a water drop. Played wonderfully. A vocal. because a broken wing is growing again. Can you do something against the noise?

Thank you very much Jürgen - greatly appreciate your comment.

Re: noise - I don’t know if you were referring to the white noise in the quiet parts of Ciggi’s vocals. I don’t have great tools to remove noise - I did some minor tweaks and uploaded a new version where the noise is slightly less obvious.

I thought I had recovered from this song which is heartbreakingly tender but you have not only reopened that well but caused it to flood with feeling. It is the feeling of experiencing something so exquisitely beautiful one can only wonder how the world can accommodate that brilliant moment.

I remember your comments from Ciggi’s version - I’m glad this version didn’t break what you felt from the earlier one but could instead build on it.

Thanks as always for your support.

Another great track of you. A pure Colab.

The “colab sound” wasn’t so apparent in this one but the touch is definitely there. Sensitive treatment and all.

I actually spent a lot of time trying to make sure I stayed out of the way for Ciggi and PM. I spent more time on that than the playing part, actually. :)

Elegant and beautiful arrangement. You´ve got to enhance the already excellent voice of Ciggi. Solid piano and bass. Panu gives an exquisite touch to the mix. Congrats for the work.

Big thanks. I mentioned above somewhere that I really just wanted to join Ciggi and Panu in their playing without upsetting the calm of their original track. Glad you agree. :)

Thank you - that’s very kind.

I wanted to make sure I didn’t ruin what made Ciggi’s/PM’s track so good in the first place. Glad you agree. :)

Thank you for that - very nice to hear.

When I heard the original I knew I wanted to do something with it. PM’s guitar is very nice to listen to, and Ciggi’s vocal performance is top notch.

Thanks for stopping by and for sharing your thoughts - much appreciated.

Going back through the remixes I have missed in the past I reached finally here.

One of your nicest, and romantic uploads.

This track and my glass(es) of “Nero d_Avola” redwine from Sicilia are a winning combination. And allow me a personal note: If I were an ed picker I would have ….

You are one of the very talented musicians and for sure one of the good souls here.

All the best for a Good New 2010!

All the best for the New Year for you too, my friend. You’ve been a great supporter these past years - always willing to share your thoughts in a very meaningful way - and I’m very happy about that.

Re: this track - I had initially intended to do something a lot more complex and dense - but once I started working I figured the smartest thing I could do was to stay out of the way for CB and PM! :)

Thanks again - your personal ed-pick means a lot.
