Thank you for mixing me C, very organic sound, and yet surreal, for instance the way you used panning I think, created a lovely sensation in my head - truly lovely. L

Thanks for saying that. I know took a lot of liberties with your vocals on this one (timing, rhythm and putting it completely out of context from the original). |

Yes, exactly why I love your mixes, C. They’re so clean and have a unique tension that’s so hynotic and charged - I just want to go on listening and drinking them in. Brilliant.

It’s terrific. Don’t be dragged down. Come and have a cointreau with me.

The electro percussion aspect of the first half is kind of Bjork-like. Even the phrasing on some of the vocals reminds me of her. But it’s also totally it’s own and put together perfectly. A beautiful piece.

Thank you. That’s a nice reference. It’s really a Jaspertine track though - the way he constructed his track is really original, and is the basis for my version. |

By now, I’ve heard lots of different remixes of Leza2unes’ Winter Sunlight. Yours count as one of those that is more… eclectic. Very ‘colab’. No doubt the main musical idea came from jaspertine’s sample but this certain has your touch. The other word that comes to my mind is ‘expansive’. Nice.

Thanks. I love the vocals - it’s her best one in my opinion - but when I heard it all I could picture was an electronic backing for it. I very much like Jaspertine’s track, and used it as a short-cut to realize that concept. Thanks again. |

Very british. Makes me think of the Cocteau Twins even if their instrumental setting would have been different. This is music for staying indoors with a good book and an glass of red and candle lights on a cold winters day. Good job!

That is quite consistent with the melancholy I’ve been feeling over the past week or so. Explains a lot. :) Thanks for the review. |

Moody and beautiful. And though you mentioned above that you felt the track was dragging you down, you should know that I found it quite lovely to listen to, and not at all a drag.

Hey colab, extraordinary mix. Excellent sound, excellent production as well for me. Definitely a beautiful song for a beautiful voice.

Thank you for that. This one was easy to make but hard to cope with afterwards, because I started picturing all the things I should have done differently - which almost never happens for me. :) Thanks though - much appreciated. |

it-s like a casting where all persons are singing the same song,…I mean, I have heard now 5 or 6 different takes on this pella.
I like the minimalistic music in the first part, then when you play the epiano at about 1:40 you put your colab fingerprint on it and I could imagine the end just with the bing boing bing bong sound (like in the beginning) without the stereo spreaded things if it is allowed to say. I often asked me, if ambient music needs some spectacular parts or is it just floating. If so, you did a good ambient track and yes there is a bit bjork feel in it. |

Haha - yes, I know the feeling. It’s a bit like at RWR when we used to get 20-30 versions of the same vocals in a couple of days. :) Quote: TheJoeI like the minimalistic music in the first part, then when you play the epiano at about 1:40 you put your colab fingerprint on it and I could imagine the end just with the bing boing bing bong sound (like in the beginning) without the stereo spreaded things if it is allowed to say. I ended up taking the easy way out and just using Jaspertine’s track completely as it was rather than taking bits and pieces, which would have made it possible to arrange it differently. But it was time to move on and I had to let this one go, warts and all. :) Thanks for leaving a review. |

I feel old in ccMixter years when you’re one of the only artists I really recognise. There’s a whole new set of kids on the block to get to know….
As for Winter Sunlight, it doesn’t disappoint. It has that open and honest listen-ability that all of your work has (‘Headphone friendly’ as I know it), the only alternative way I can describe it is as Sunday morning hangover music (induces those reflective thoughts about what shenanigans you’ve gotten up to the night before). Anyway, I’m rambling now… Top tune |

Hahaha - that makes sense in a very weird sort of way. :) I wish I had made been able to create the track that jaspertine did - it really is the basis for my entire version. Thanks for stopping to comment, and good to see you around here again. :) |

Of all my own tracks, my favourite ones are the ones that strip out all but the bare bones, but after the fact, it’s always enjoyable to hear these kinds of flourishes added on top.
And I gotta say, I’m really really impressed that you could mix a 9/8 track with… anything. That, sir, is the sign of a good ear, as well as mixing skills. |

I know exactly what you mean. Scaling back elements is the hardest part of the work - so thanks for letting me indulge in this. :) Thanks for stopping by to leave a comment. |

Ahh yes - when I get comments from Scott about that it does mean something. :) Thanks again for all the kind words about my tracks - really appreciate it. |
