I think you have made some vast improvements of late.
Many people when they are making PC driven music mixing do not keep the vocal as a centre of attention and often just paste it in as another instrument and sometimes thats fine . I am not saying you are guilty of that just that here you are mastering the track with an eye on the vocal and it makes for an excellent and original piece of music. Kudos as everyone keeps saying ? :-) |

Kudos as everyone keeps saying ? :-) Thanks for that - especially the comment about progress since you’re one of the people who have heard my various tracks for a few years now. Thanks also for the comment about the vocals. I thought the instrumentals were interesting from an intellectual perspective; but these particular vocals really gave that spark of life to the mix and helped me focus the work in a very different way. Thanks for stopping by. Sure appreciate it. |

Its late and I’m a little too tired to be all intelligently witty, but this track is very fitting to my current slightly drunk, slightly tired mood :-).
Its warm to the ears and I’m receptive to this tracks melodies and rhythm. Nothing more to add… zzzzzzzz [Scott has fallen asleep, cuddled up next to his bottle of 2007 syrah rose]. |

This is a little bit of discordant noodling that I put in the irritating but must listen too bag!!
I agree with LS. I think your work is developing but that is how it should be with all of us and one of the reasons I for one keep coming back here. |

I think your comment is slightly irritating but also appreciated. :) Re: developing - I feel the same. It’s been a year of surprise from people like you and LS and TheJoe who I thought I had neatly categorized into a style and who have brought new things seemingly out of the blue. More of that for 2009 please. :) |

Really nice use of the samples- and the vox fits like a glove (or the other way around?)

A bit of both, methinks; went about it a bit haphazardly, actually. I started by working the instrumental samples together and tried to come up with something I could build from; but it didn’t lead anywhere until I stumbled upon the vocals; which made it possible to start to tune it a bit to all fit together. Thanks for leaving a comment. Much appreciated. |

I really like this colab—great use of the samples—love that rhythm and its already been mentioned but I’m gonna say it again that the vocals fit like they were meant to be.

Re: vocal fit - honestly I really lucked out there more than anything. I wish I could say I had a plan right from the start, but that would be lying. :) Your new photo is … good. Not nice, mind you; but very, very good. :) |

Thank you! I’ve already mentioned Morusque’s skill in creating both acoustic and electronic sounds - and the skilled harmonies/melodies really lent themselves well to go with Queenie’s vocals. Thanks again. |

One of the things that I like the most about this track is that it is an electronic mix, but at the same time has this natural feeling that make my ears to rejoice hearing this really outstanding work!..
Keep on that! |

Keep on that! Thanks - very nice comment. I was lucky finding Morusque’s samples, because they have a compelling blend of acoustic (the bass and guitar samples) and electronic (just listen to the various drum loops). I added a Wurlitzer and a synth sound; and then the vocals held it all together. :) Thanks for leaving a review. |

I agree, the acoustic samples are very fresh, and the drumloops and synthetic sounds put a lot of originality in this composition, with the vocals glueing. Amazing job!

Thanks! By now I’ve already credited Morosque’s samples enough - but you should look into them. They’re versatile enough that you can really use them to add to pretty much any mix. Excellent stuff. Thanks for leaving a comment. |

Strange at first, it grabs you, and you can´t stop. Excellent mix for me. Thanks.

This is great! I love the odd textures, it’s witty but still very musical. Reminds me a little of the weird textures on some Tom Waits tracks.

That’s a very precise phrasing to use, and I’m very happy for it. One of the things I really admire about Morusque is that the uploads show precisely that combination - a sort of irreverence combined with great musical skill/understanding. My task then simply became shepherding it to safety. :) Thanks for your review - I do appreciate it. |

Amazing job. I thought I wouldn’t like it at first but when the vocals come in, everything seems magical!

Thanks for that! I think I mentioned in the thread above that there was a point where I had tried out a few different pellas and it was OK, but not great - and then when I came across these vocals it just made sense - really gave it a nice balance between serious and tongue-in-cheek with a lightness it needed. Thanks for leaving a note! |

I enjoyed another page of your talent and style today (except for the hippity-hop, but that’s just me). Glad they’re here.

That’s incredibly rewarding to hear. I have been in a massive funk recently, and have had no energy to work on or even listen to music. So it’s very nice to hear you’re glad they’re there. I’ve considered deleting them many times over the years, so I’m really glad you’ve gotten value from it. |
